At Meow Deluxe, health is a cornerstone of the program. Our standards are built around responsible breeding, veterinary preparation, thoughtful pairing, and transparent placement practices.
Health Comes First
We prioritize veterinary preparation, preventive care, and testing for known Maine Coon HCM mutations as part of a broader health-focused program.
Realistic Transparency
Genetics is complex. Testing helps reduce hereditary risk, but no breeder can promise zero lifetime risk. Our approach is informed, transparent, and responsible.
Intentional Placement
We do not rush placements. We place intentionally, with attention to temperament, home environment, and the long-term fit between kitten and family.
HCM & Genetic Screening
Health and genetic testing are very important for buyers, and they are central to how we approach the breed. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is one of the most discussed health concerns in Maine Coons, so we test for known HCM mutations and use pedigree and health history as part of responsible decision-making.

Veterinary Preparation
Every kitten receives appropriate veterinary care, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip identification, and a complete health examination before placement. Kittens also leave with documented pedigree and certificate support.
Pet-quality kittens are spayed or neutered prior to placement as part of our commitment to responsible ownership and breed integrity.
Ethical Placement Standards
We place our kittens with families who are prepared to provide lifelong care, love, and responsible ownership. Because of this, we take time to get to know each prospective home before confirming a reservation.
We reserve the right to decline placement if we do not feel a home is the right fit. The goal is a safe, stable, and loving lifelong home where the kitten can thrive.
